In: Issues & studies: a social science quarterly on China, Taiwan, and East Asian affairs, Band 28, Heft 6, S. 86-95
ISSN: 1013-2511
According to the author, the world now seems more peaceful than one could ever have expected only a few years ago due to collapse of communism in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union, and the end of the Cold War. The policy of nuclear deterrence, adopted by both East and West after World War II, was seen by both sides as an effective way of preventing war. He (the author) examines the role that nuclear deterrance played during the Cold War era. (DÜI-Sen)
